DevOps Engineer – Remote (Germany)

About the role

This fully remote position is for a DevOps Engineer based in Germany, working in an international engineering team. You will help modernise existing systems, improve platform stability and strengthen the security‑focused product ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain backend infrastructure and services, including API gateways and load balancers.
• Develop product features from design through implementation, testing and deployment.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues in production environments.
• Operate large‑scale server infrastructure and high‑throughput data pipelines.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines to enable automated, reliable software delivery.
• Create and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
• Monitor production performance, identify improvement opportunities and enhance reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on architecture, technical direction and system maintainability.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development, DevOps engineering or a related technical role.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with ownership of technical solutions.
• Experience working in distributed, remote‑first teams.
• Ability to analyse code, systems and production environments to resolve issues.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one high‑level programming language.
• Hands‑on experience with Apache Kafka, ClickHouse or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL and in‑memory databases (e.g., Redis).
• Design and operation of scalable, high‑throughput backend services.
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Creating unit and integration tests.
• Working with API gateways and load balancers.
