About the role

Join SE3 Labs to help get autonomous drones airborne and field‑tested. As a Drone Assembly Working Student/Freelancer you will integrate hardware and software, prepare UAVs for flight and support systematic testing in real‑world conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate and checkout new UAVs together with hardware and software teams to achieve flight readiness.
• Fly, test‑fly, and deploy various drones from backpackable quadcopters to multi‑meter fixed‑wing platforms.
• Conduct qualification and development flight testing, collect data and provide feedback.
• Identify bugs or design flaws, propose improvements and support rapid iteration.

Required profile

• 3+ years hands‑on experience assembling, tuning and operating drones (professional or competition projects).
• Technical apprenticeship, bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in a relevant field.
• Proactive, systematic problem‑solver with strong ownership.
• Fluent English; German is a strong plus.

Required skills

• Ground control software such as QGroundControl or Mission Planner.
• Flight control stacks like Ardupilot or PX4.
• Command‑line usage and basic scripting.
• Data analysis of flight logs (root‑cause, frequency‑domain).
• Soldering, electronics and sensor troubleshooting.
• CAD and 3D‑printing familiarity.
