Embedded Software / Firmware Engineer

About the role

As an Embedded Software / Firmware Engineer you will own the low‑level software foundation of SE3’s autonomy platform across drones, payloads and ground systems. You will translate system needs into robust firmware, bring up new boards, and enable sensors, AI accelerators and communication peripherals.

Key responsibilities

• Translate system requirements into low‑level software architecture and bring new boards to life on Jetson, ARM and STM32 platforms.
• Develop and maintain drivers for sensors, cameras, AI accelerators and network interfaces.
• Work across embedded Linux, kernel, device‑tree and BSP integration to create stable foundations.
• Build flashing, boot and deployment tooling for development, production and field updates.
• Debug hardware on the bench, isolate failures quickly and iterate until systems are field‑ready.

Required profile

• M.Sc. or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Embedded Systems or related field.
• 2+ years of hands‑on low‑level software or firmware development for embedded systems.
• Strong C and Python skills and experience shipping real systems on embedded Linux.
• Practical knowledge of hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, CAN, Ethernet and MIPI‑based cameras.
