Financial Controller

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing aerospace and defence company in Munich that is on track to become a unicorn. Reporting to the CFO, you will help build a high‑performing finance function across multiple entities, establishing processes that support rapid expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee statutory accounts for the German entity and support external audits.
• Design and maintain compliance processes for German pricing and regulatory requirements.
• Build the controlling function from scratch, including cost‑centre and cost‑carrier accounting in SAP CO.
• Oversee tax compliance for the German entity, coordinating with external advisors.
• Drive process automation and continuous improvement within the ERP environment.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to create transparency and shape the finance process landscape.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial controlling, preferably across multiple legal entities.
• Degree in business administration, economics or a related field and a professional qualification (e.g., Bilanzbuchhalter, Steuerberater, ACCA/ACA/CIMA).
• Strong knowledge of German HGB, familiarity with IFRS, and a plus for UK GAAP.
• Fluent German speaker with working proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SAP, especially SAP CO.
