Senior Legal Counsel – Germany (Hybrid, Berlin)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to lead all legal and data‑protection matters for our German operations. Based in Berlin and working three days a week on‑site, you will act as the primary legal point of contact, collaborating closely with our UK Group Legal team while advising senior stakeholders across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage litigation risk, oversee product/device compliance and coordinate first‑line litigation and debt recovery.
• Monitor and advise on emerging healthcare and AI regulations, supporting product and engineering teams in compliant development.
• Draft, negotiate and administer German‑law commercial agreements, adapting group templates to local requirements.
• Provide guidance on advertising, health‑claim and consumer‑protection rules for marketing campaigns.
• Lead GDPR/BDSG compliance as the main contact for data‑protection matters, including RoPA, DPIAs and breach response.
• Handle corporate governance tasks such as board documentation, statutory filings and coordination with group‑wide policies.
• Advise on German employment law, including hiring, terminations and works‑council interactions.
• Build and optimise legal operations and process flows for the German entity.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with extensive experience in German law, preferably within health‑tech or digital‑health environments.
• Proven ability to manage a broad portfolio of legal topics, from commercial contracts to data protection and employment law.
• Strong analytical mindset, comfortable with fast‑moving, innovative settings and autonomous decision‑making.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
