Senior/Mid-Level PHP Developer (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a PHP Developer to join Gambio’s development team (6‑10 members). The position is fully remote within Germany, with occasional in‑person meetings and company events.

Key responsibilities

• Implement new features for the Gambio shop software from concept to release, contributing ideas for further development.
• Extend and maintain our REST API, event system, and integrations with payment providers, marketplaces, shipping services, and ERP systems.
• Identify and fix bugs, collaborating closely with the support team.
• Write automated tests, conduct code reviews, and participate in an agile team alongside product owners and QA.
• Depending on experience, make technical decisions, shape architecture, own the REST API and integrations, modernise legacy code, and mentor junior developers.

Required profile

• Professional experience in PHP development, confident with PHP 8 and object‑oriented programming.
• Proficient with MySQL/MariaDB, Git, Composer, REST APIs and OAuth standards.
• Experience with automated testing (e.g., PHPUnit), CI pipelines and Docker.
• Ability to work independently, communicate clearly in a distributed team, and speak fluent English with good German (B1+).
