Software Developer – Simulation Control Stations

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a mid‑to‑senior Software Developer to design and implement both frontend interfaces and backend components for simulation control stations used in real‑time monitoring, instruction, and debriefing.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyse requirements together with stakeholders and customers.
• Define and architect the software foundation for control, instructor, and debriefing stations.
• Design intuitive user interfaces using a custom Qt/QML based GUI framework.
• Develop, test and maintain clean, efficient C++ code following best practices.
• Participate in agile ceremonies such as planning, stand‑ups, reviews and retrospectives.
• Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with coding standards.
• Maintain a scalable, maintainable architecture that integrates with other systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Experience developing frontend/UI applications, especially with Qt/QML.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and modern DevOps pipelines.
• Good communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Proactive, pragmatic mindset with a passion for simulation.
