System Safety Engineer – Aircraft Development

About the role

System Safety Engineer to support the Aircraft Development Safety team in Manching. You will ensure Airbus products are designed, produced and supported in line with state‑of‑the‑art safety standards and airworthiness regulations, maintaining safety throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle and considering human factors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and conduct Functional Hazard Assessments and System Safety Assessments for military aircraft and systems up to certification.
• Perform risk analyses, common‑cause analyses and generate safety requirements, evidence and procedures.
• Interface with internal and external stakeholders such as engineering, project management, airworthiness authorities and suppliers.
• Review and approve supplier data related to safety and reliability.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physical Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience, preferably with aircraft systems.
• Strong communication skills and problem‑solving capability.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.

Required skills

• System Safety Assessment experience.
• System Engineering with safety/airworthiness interface.
• Advanced MS Office proficiency.
• Use of safety analysis tools such as Isograph FaultTree+ and Reliability Workbench.
