Overall RPAS Design Chief Engineer – Eurodrone

About the role

Join Airbus Defence and Space’s Eurodrone RPAS Design Team to lead the overall design and integration of the Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) across its lifecycle, ensuring compliance with top‑level system requirements and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Optimize the overall RPAS design and ensure integration of all Level‑1 sub‑products.
• Coordinate the flight‑chain design (GSCCS, FMCS, FMAIS, SFLS) and guarantee safety‑critical consistency.
• Control the technical baseline, assess change requests and align configuration maturity with programme milestones.
• Define certification and qualification road‑maps in close collaboration with customers and regulatory bodies.
• Integrate flight physics activities (performance, loads) and drive consistent solutions into the overall configuration.

Required profile

• Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• More than 8 years of engineering experience in aerospace or UAV development.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams.
• Deep knowledge of flight dynamics, flight mechanics and flight‑control laws.
• Extensive experience in developing flight‑control systems and DAL‑A software.
• Operational knowledge of UAS, including automatic take‑off and landing.
• Strong project and technical management track record.
• Excellent English (negotiation level).
