Accountant – Finance & Compliance (Essen, Germany)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Finance team in Essen. The role is central to maintaining regulatory compliance and supporting the monthly closing process for our German operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support monthly close activities and ensure timely completion.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations in SAP.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements and audit deliverables.
• Implement German e‑invoicing requirements and manage VAT calculation and submission.
• Collaborate closely with AP/AR teams to guarantee data quality and continuity.
• Handle audit queries and ensure prompt resolution.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Strong teamwork orientation and reliability.

Required skills

• Strong SAP knowledge.
• Solid understanding of German GAAP (HGB).
• Experience with VAT calculation and e‑invoicing requirements.
