Accountant (HGB) – Frankfurt

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing international tech scale‑up that is building a high‑performing Finance function in Germany. The company seeks a detail‑driven Accountant with strong HGB expertise to support day‑to‑day accounting operations and statutory reporting in a dynamic SaaS environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with HGB requirements.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
• Take ownership of invoicing, receivables, and payment processes across AR and AP.
• Support forecasting, planning, and reporting activities with reliable financial data.
• Assist with audits, documentation, and continuous process improvements.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to support finance operations in a fast‑moving tech business.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of hands‑on accounting experience, preferably in SaaS, tech, travel, or hospitality.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Structured, independent, and detail‑oriented with the ability to work in a collaborative, fast‑moving team.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of German accounting and tax regulations (HGB, UStG).
• Experience with DATEV, SAP, or similar accounting systems.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical ability.
