Accountant

About the role

Stonebranch is looking for a proactive Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting operations for its German and Swiss legal entities. Based in Frankfurt, you will work closely with the Manager, Accounting & Finance and collaborate with the global finance team in an English‑speaking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices end‑to‑end: verification, coding, posting and routing for approval.
• Execute weekly payment runs for all assigned entities.
• Handle sales orders, generate accurate customer invoices and ensure timely posting.
• Post daily bank transactions and reconcile accounts.
• Maintain VAT compliance and support month‑end close activities.
• Participate in ERP transformation projects and other finance initiatives.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of practical accounting experience, preferably with a university degree or completed Ausbildung.
• Fluent German and professional working proficiency in English.
• Strong organizational skills, accuracy and the ability to manage multiple entities simultaneously.
• Hands‑on attitude with a solid understanding of German accounting standards (HGB).

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems for transactional accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis.
• Knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and VAT compliance procedures.
