Accountant (m/f/d) – Financial Accounting & Controlling

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join mobile.de’s Financial Accounting & Controlling team in Berlin. You will be responsible for ensuring statutory German reporting compliance while supporting the company’s fast‑moving digital marketplace operations. The role is hybrid, combining office collaboration with flexible work.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare month‑, quarter‑ and year‑end closes in accordance with IFRS and German GAAP (HGB).
• Draft financial statements and balance‑sheet reconciliations under local German GAAP.
• Reconcile VAT returns and support tax reporting.
• Maintain and improve accounting processes within the ERP and finance‑tech stack.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to provide clear financial insights.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in e‑commerce or digital tech environments.
• Deep knowledge of HGB/German GAAP and strong IFRS understanding.
• Degree in Accounting, Controlling, or a recognized vocational qualification (e.g., Certified Accountant IHK).
• Proven ability to manage month‑end close, compliance and reporting.
• Business‑fluent German and strong written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Experience with modern ERP systems such as SAP, OneStream or Navision.
• Familiarity with finance technology platforms, e.g., Salesforce.
