Android Engineer (Kotlin Multiplatform)

About the role

Join SumUp’s Point‑of‑Sale team as an Android Engineer focused on Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP). You will help shape the future of our mobile apps by building new features, improving architecture, and ensuring a seamless experience across Android and iOS.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features for the item catalog within the SumUp SuperApp.
• Improve and maintain the architecture of a unified Android app used in 60+ countries.
• Contribute to SumUp’s Kotlin Multiplatform strategy.
• Write thorough documentation and implement robust testing before shipping.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to deliver a consistent UX.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• 3+ years of mobile engineering experience with Android and Kotlin.
• 2+ years of experience using Jetpack Compose.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns such as MVVM and MVI.
• Experience building modular, scalable app architectures.
• Good knowledge of reactive programming (Flow, Coroutines, concurrency).
• Proven testing best practices and ability to write resilient tests.
• Interest in multi‑platform development with Kotlin Multiplatform.
