Assistant General Manager

About the role

The Assistant General Manager supports the Café General Manager in delivering brand standards, driving financial performance, and leading the team to exceed owner objectives. This senior leader works across all departments to ensure consistent execution of operations, guest experience, and staff development.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the café’s financial performance by monitoring key metrics and driving revenue growth.
• Collaborate with Sales to implement the café’s sales and marketing plan and increase entrée counts year over year.
• Mentor and coach junior managers, helping them understand financial goals and operational expectations.
• Partner with the General Manager to set clear operating direction based on business strengths, weaknesses, and market opportunities.
• Oversee consistent execution of all systems and processes to meet brand standards for products and services.
• Build and sustain a high‑performing team aligned with the café’s vision and values.
• Champion change initiatives and ensure successful implementation of local and company programs.
• Drive a customer‑first culture, responding to guest feedback from all channels, including social media.
