Associate Consultant: Insurance

About the role

Wavestone Germany offers an Associate Consultant position in insurance consulting. You will start your career in consulting with a mix of individual support, on-the-job learning and training, supported by senior staff who are eager to help. You will work on projects with large, international insurance companies covering implementations such as IFRS17, LDTI, IFRS9 and CECL, and learn the basics of the insurance industry with a focus on regulatory risk implementation and finance/actuarial transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Work on diverse projects with international insurers, supporting implementations such as IFRS17, LDTI, IFRS9 and CECL.
• Learn the insurance industry basics, regulatory risk implementation and finance/actuarial transformation within the project team.
• Gradually take on more responsibility in project teams and in developing internal offerings.
• Tailor existing software and solutions to each client's needs.

Required profile

• Degree in accounting, economics, finance, mathematics, actuarial science, engineering or a comparable field.
• Actuarial or CPA track or exams passed is a plus.
• Interest in learning from industry experts to build a career in financial risk management.
• Analytical and conceptual strength, hands-on approach, flexibility and willingness to travel occasionally.
• Able to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences; teamwork and collaboration.
• An internship or experience in insurance or finance is a plus.

Required skills

• Solid foundation in SAS 9.4 programming.
• Experience with Python or R is a plus.
