Associate Pentester (Red Team) – Cybersecurity Audit

About the role

Join ALTEN Consulting Services GmbH as an Associate Pentester on the Red Team, focusing on comprehensive cybersecurity audits across a wide range of enterprise assets, from cloud applications to on‑premise infrastructure and digital products.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct enterprise‑wide cybersecurity assessments covering products, services, IT systems, factories and software development centers.
• Perform ethical hacking, design realistic attack scenarios and translate technical findings into clear management insights.
• Apply red‑team methodologies, tools and techniques to simulate real‑world threat behavior targeting cloud, on‑premise and digital environments.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity experts from various industries to address root causes and develop innovative security solutions.
• Research emerging cybersecurity technologies and threats, evaluating their impact on the company’s environment.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., GIAC GPEN, OSCP, OSWE, CRTP, eJPT, CREST) are a plus.
• Proven penetration‑testing experience in large‑scale industrial or enterprise settings.
• Hands‑on expertise in application security, Active Directory attacks, EDR/antivirus evasion, C2 frameworks and security automation.
• Experience with CTFs, bug hunting or vulnerability research (CVEs) is a plus.
• Strong scripting/programming skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, C/C#).
• Fluent in German and English, with an international mindset and willingness to travel occasionally.
