Automotive Engineer (Remote, 12‑Month Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a senior Automotive Engineer with deep component‑level expertise to support our client‑facing workshops, specification reviews, and technical cost analyses. The position is remote and runs for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, allowing you to work with leading OEM and Tier‑1 suppliers on complex automotive modules.

Key responsibilities

• Review engineering specifications and flag over‑engineering.
• Challenge assumptions, testing timelines, and certification requirements.
• Identify and quantify technical cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Support sizing of opportunities and assess feasibility of engineering changes.
• Participate in DtV and module workshops, translating expertise into actionable recommendations.

Required profile

• 10–20 years of hands‑on automotive engineering experience.
• Previous role as Engineering Manager, Team Lead, Module Owner, Component Owner, or Senior Technical Specialist.
• Background with an OEM or Tier‑1 supplier.
• Deep expertise in one or more automotive components or modules.
• Experience from concept development through validation, industrialisation, and SOP.
• Proven ability to work with suppliers and cross‑functional engineering/procurement teams.
• Comfortable participating in technical workshops with client engineering teams.
