Avionics Commodity Manager

About the role

As an Avionics Commodity Manager you will join the strategic procurement team for Airbus Defence and Space AirPower platforms. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with global avionics suppliers and managing complex work packages across the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a commodity strategy for the avionics portfolio.
• Manage supplier relationships, evaluation, and development programmes.
• Lead multi‑functional sub‑commodity teams and drive bids, tenders, and supplier selection.
• Negotiate contracts and ensure programme expectations are met.
• Deliver procurement and value‑creation projects that generate synergies and savings.
• Oversee supplier evaluation, development and vendor management activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Business Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, engineering, services or project management.
• Proven negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
• Experience working in a matrix organisation with strong stakeholder management.
• Ability to anticipate, assess and mitigate risks.
