Back-end & Computer Vision Software Engineer

About the role

StellDirVor is developing ARAIAS, an AR‑ and AI‑based hands‑free training system for chronic wound care. We are moving from concept to a working prototype and need a back‑end engineer to build the core infrastructure that connects smart‑glass sensors, AI models, and the Unity front‑end.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement back‑end infrastructure, including REST APIs, cloud services, and data pipelines.
• Integrate hardware, external services, and internal components to ensure reliable data flow.
• Implement real‑time streaming from smart‑glass sensor capture to server‑side processing and response delivery.
• Connect AI model outputs to the application layer, handling inference endpoints, model versioning, and performance monitoring.
• Support computer‑vision architecture, integrating CV model outputs into back‑end and application layers.
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions suitable for the prototyping stage.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and basic observability.
• Interface with smart‑glass SDKs and sensor APIs based on provided documentation.
• Optionally support integration points between back‑end and Unity‑based front‑end.

Required profile

• Strong back‑end engineering proficiency with experience in REST API design, system integration, and data pipeline development using Python.
• Familiarity with cloud services and real‑time data streaming concepts.
• Experience integrating AI/ML models into production systems, including model versioning and monitoring.
• Understanding of computer‑vision pipelines and ability to connect CV outputs to back‑end services.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD, containerization (e.g., Docker), and observability tools.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting within Germany.
