Backend Engineer – AI‑based Energy Operating System

About the role

GALVANY is building an AI‑driven operating system that powers heat pumps, battery storage, smart metering and virtual power plants. As a Backend Engineer you will design and scale the core services that connect physical energy hardware with digital experiences, ensuring reliability and performance across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement event‑driven architectures using Go and Kafka.
• Develop high‑performance APIs and data integrations for devices, markets and user‑facing applications.
• Integrate large language models and machine‑learning components into backend services.
• Own the full lifecycle of services—from design and testing to deployment and observability.
• Create automation solutions using workflow engines (e.g., n8n, Kestra) and low‑code platforms.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in high‑performance software environments (e.g., fast‑scaling startups or top‑tier consulting).
• Proven end‑to‑end responsibility for building, releasing and maintaining production services.
• Strong background in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
