Backend Engineer – Node.js & TypeScript

About the role

As a Backend Engineer you will play a pivotal role in building the software that powers Bliq's driverless operations. You will work on both product‑facing services and internal tools, influencing what we build and how we build it.

Key responsibilities

• Implement end‑user‑facing features based on feedback and the product roadmap across backend systems and web applications.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and internal tooling that support the driverless stack.
• Drive key architectural and technology decisions for the broader tech stack.
• Leverage AI coding tools to boost personal and team productivity while maintaining engineering judgment.

Required profile

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on the bigger picture.
• At least 5 years of post‑degree professional software delivery using JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Strong ownership of technical challenges and ability to ship reliable solutions.
• Experience in backend, systems, or DevOps engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with Node.js, MongoDB, and web applications (React or similar).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, distributed systems, Linux environments, networking, containers, or infrastructure automation.
• Practical use of AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) with sound judgment.
• Previous experience in a fast‑moving startup or product environment.
• Bonus: interest or exposure to autonomous vehicle systems, fleet management, or safety‑critical software.
• Degree in a technical field (preferably Computer Science) and excellent English communication skills.
