Backend Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to design and build scalable backend services for our digital products. This fully remote contract role offers the chance to work with a high‑performing engineering team and shape the core technology infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance backend services and APIs.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and robust solutions.
• Optimize systems for reliability, security, and efficiency.
• Write clean, well‑documented, and thoroughly tested code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, focusing on root‑cause analysis.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and propose innovative solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional backend development experience.
• Proven ability to design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Experience with system security, authentication, and authorization.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and containerization.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced remote team.
