Backend Java Software Engineer

About the role

Join osapiens as a Backend Java Software Engineer and help build the core of the AI‑driven osapiens HUB, a multi‑tenant SaaS platform used by global enterprises. You will work in a hybrid setting in Mannheim, collaborating with a talented team to deliver scalable, high‑performance backend services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java‑based enterprise applications with a focus on scalability and clean architecture.
• Own features from concept through delivery and provide ongoing support.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decisions in an agile environment.
• Mentor junior developers and conduct peer code reviews to ensure high coding standards.
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to integrate RESTful or SOAP services and improve system reliability.

Required profile

• Strong passion for platform engineering and building distributed backend systems.
• Solid experience with Java or JavaEE, preferably using Spring or Spring Boot.
• Hands‑on knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB or Cassandra.
• Experience creating and consuming RESTful or SOAP APIs.
• Familiarity with automated testing (unit, integration, end‑to‑end) and version control using Git.
