Backend Software Engineer – AI Music Video Platform

About the role

Neural Frames is building a category‑defining AI music‑video generator. As a Backend Software Engineer you will own the core systems that transform songs into fully produced videos, working closely with the founder and tech lead to shape the product’s future.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain video generation pipelines, model orchestration, queue management and scalable infrastructure.
• Build Python backend services that integrate multiple AI providers (e.g., fal, BytePlus, OpenRouter, AWS) while handling cost, latency and failure modes.
• Improve reliability, latency and cost efficiency across the generation stack.
• Collaborate on architecture decisions for new product surfaces.
• Instrument, monitor and troubleshoot production code with full visibility.
• Contribute to AI/ML workflows such as prompt engineering, model evaluation, fine‑tuning pipelines and experimentation with new models.

Required profile

• Proven experience shipping production Python back‑ends that handle async workloads, queues and retries.
• Comfortable working with AI APIs and making trade‑off decisions around cost, latency and reliability.
• Strong systems thinking – you investigate root causes rather than applying quick patches.
• High agency: you identify bottlenecks and fix them without waiting for tickets.
• Based in Berlin and able to work on‑site at least four days per week.
