Backend Software Engineer - AI Neobank App

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to help build the core infrastructure of an AI‑powered neobank. The role focuses on designing and delivering scalable backend services that support millions of users across payments, insurance, savings, investments and digital wallets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services, APIs and workflows for AI‑driven financial applications.
• Build and enhance infrastructure for payments, insurance, wallets, savings, investments, travel services and other financial solutions.
• Implement reliable systems for account management, transaction processing, reconciliation, notifications and operational workflows.
• Collaborate with product, mobile and business teams to deliver seamless customer‑facing experiences.
• Integrate with external partners such as banks, payment providers, insurers and third‑party data services.
• Improve platform reliability, observability, security and performance through monitoring and best engineering practices.
• Ensure designs meet operational, audit and regulatory requirements while remaining scalable and resilient.
• Own production challenges, proactively identifying risks, edge cases and long‑term improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in backend software engineering and production environments.
• Strong understanding of API development, database design, distributed systems and backend architecture principles.
• Proven experience building scalable services and integrating third‑party platforms.
• Solid knowledge of software reliability, security practices, data consistency and operational risk management.
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting capabilities in production.
• Ability to balance speed, quality, scalability and business requirements when making technical decisions.
• Effective collaboration with cross‑functional teams including product, operations, mobile and business stakeholders.
