BESS Engineer – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced BESS Engineer to lead the technical delivery of large‑scale battery energy storage projects in Berlin. The role covers the full project lifecycle from detailed design through commissioning and handover, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, customers and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for utility‑scale energy storage projects, coordinating engineering activities from design to final handover.
• Review and validate system designs, equipment selections and technical documentation, ensuring integration with electrical infrastructure and grid connection requirements.
• Support testing, commissioning and energisation, coordinating acceptance testing and performance verification.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies while ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
• Act as the primary technical contact for internal and external stakeholders, contributing to project reviews, tender activities and customer discussions.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Renewable Energy or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience delivering complex electrical infrastructure, renewable energy or energy storage projects.
• Proven experience in design, installation, testing or commissioning of grid‑connected assets.
• Strong understanding of power systems, electrical equipment and energy storage technologies.
• Knowledge of grid connection processes and utility requirements.
