Business Development Manager – Government Affairs & Public Sector (Germany)

About the role

Bitdefender is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead its Government Affairs and Public Sector activities in Germany. The role will bridge European strategy with local execution, building relationships with government bodies, defence organisations and strategic industry partners to drive market penetration of Bitdefender’s cybersecurity solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain trusted relationships with federal ministries, the Bundeswehr Cyber Command, state governments and municipal digitalisation programmes.
• Identify and support business opportunities across critical infrastructure, healthcare, utilities, defence and research organisations.
• Collaborate with enterprise sales teams to open executive contacts and remove regulatory barriers.
• Monitor and influence policy developments such as NIS2, KRITIS, BSI legislation, cloud‑sovereignty and AI‑governance initiatives.
• Represent Bitdefender in public‑private working groups, security conferences and procurement processes.
• Build strategic partnerships with industry players such as Rheinmetall, Airbus Defence, Deutsche Telekom and SAP.
• Provide market intelligence to corporate leadership and help position Bitdefender within the German public sector.

Required profile

• Proven experience in government relations, public policy or business development within the German public sector.
• Strong network across federal and state authorities, defence agencies and regulated industries.
• Ability to translate European strategy into concrete local actions and support large‑scale sales opportunities.
• Excellent communication skills in German and English.
