Business Engagement Manager - Finance & Operations

About the role

As a Business Engagement Manager in the Portfolio & Governance Office of Springer Nature’s Technology group, you will act as the primary technology partner for the Finance & Operations business area. You will align digital product strategy with business priorities, orchestrate cross‑functional technology teams, and ensure that initiatives comply with internal and external standards.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the strategic liaison between Finance & Operations leaders and technology teams, translating business needs into digital product road‑maps.
• Collaborate closely with the Product Management group under the Chief Digital Office to align initiatives with the overall digital product strategy.
• Coordinate portfolio and project planning, feeding inputs into Portfolio Governance bodies to drive informed decision‑making.
• Identify and remove friction in cross‑functional collaboration, improving efficiency and effectiveness of delivery.
• Monitor emerging business trends and provide insights that shape the broader technology strategy.

Required profile

• Proven experience partnering with finance, controlling, tax, compliance, risk management, or operations functions.
• Strong understanding of enterprise‑wide digital product development and portfolio governance processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders.
• Analytical mindset with a track record of translating business challenges into technology solutions.
