Climate Technology Optimization for Energy Efficiency Internship

About the role

CTC GmbH, a leading R&D centre for CFRP production, is looking for an intern to support Automation & Eco‑Efficiency. You will work on improving the energy efficiency of climate‑controlled production halls while maintaining strict temperature and humidity standards.

Key responsibilities

• Build a thermal‑energetic simulation of the production hall and its HVAC system to map heat loads and humidity dynamics.
• Validate simulation results against real energy consumption and sensor data.
• Analyse and compare optimisation options such as climate chambers, local micro‑climate conditioning, and advanced control strategies.
• Investigate dew‑point control, humidification and dehumidification processes to identify energy‑saving potential.
• Present findings and optimisation concepts to internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Enrolled full‑time student in Mechanical, Energy, Process Engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in sustainability and energy‑efficient manufacturing.
• Analytical mindset with ability to work independently and in a team.

Required skills

• Thermal‑energetic simulation and modelling.
• Data validation and analysis.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems and climate control.
• Energy‑efficiency optimisation techniques.
