Clinical Pharmacist (Band 7) – Belfast

About the role

The South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust (SEHSCT) is recruiting a Band 7 Clinical Pharmacist to join the University Hospital main building in Belfast. This permanent position includes on‑call responsibilities and offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary acute‑care team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical pharmacy services to in‑patient wards, including medication review and optimisation.
• Participate in on‑call rotas, offering expert advice to clinical staff outside normal hours.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses and allied health professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of pharmacy policies and guidelines.
• Support the education and training of junior pharmacy staff.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or equivalent.
• Experience in an acute‑care hospital setting, preferably at Band 7 level.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to undertake on‑call duties as required.
