Clinical Research Nurse

About the role

The Clinical Research Nurse provides nursing care to study participants within a clinical trial environment, ensuring safety, accurate data capture, and compliance with study protocols and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and support allocated clinical studies, working closely with senior coordinators.
• Maintain informed consent files and organize study-specific materials and medical devices.
• Prepare clinical equipment, ward areas, and ensure a safe environment for volunteers.
• Conduct physiological measurements (ECG, blood pressure, lung function, venous puncture) and document findings according to protocol.
• Optionally perform EEG, polysomnographic recordings, and evoked potential measurements.
• Manage case report forms (CRFs), source data, and archive study documentation.
• Handle volunteer payments, resolve data queries, and support monitor visits.
• Participate in study team, initiation, and sponsor meetings.

Required profile

• Fluent German and good English (written and oral).
• Proficient with Windows Office applications.
• Organizational talent and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Relevant experience in hospitals or medical surgery.
• Completed education as a nurse, MTA, doctor’s assistant, paramedic, or equivalent.

Required skills

• Physiological measurement techniques (ECG, blood pressure, lung function, venous puncture).
• EEG registration and polysomnographic recording.
• Evoked potential measurement.
• Use of psychological and physiological test procedures.
• Computer skills (Windows Office).
