Commercial Director – Europe (Dusseldorf)

About the role

We are seeking a senior Commercial Director to lead our European business development efforts from Dusseldorf. The role will support Hatch’s growth in the Mining, Energy and Infrastructure sectors across Europe, Eurasia and North Africa, working closely with the Commercial, Contracts and Corporate Legal Services (CCL) team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and drive commercial proposals, pricing strategies and contract negotiations for professional services, design and supply projects.
• Collaborate with business unit leads, engagement managers and senior leadership to identify and pursue new opportunities.
• Ensure all commercial documents comply with Hatch’s corporate governance and legal standards.
• Lead the formation of joint ventures, teaming arrangements and client engagements.
• Coordinate frequent travel between Dusseldorf and the Essen office to support regional activities.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in commercial contracting within the Mining, Energy or Infrastructure sectors.
• Proven ability to lead proposal development and negotiation strategies at a senior level.
• Strong business acumen and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with global CCL teams and senior executives.
