Commercial Operations Director

About the role

This senior leadership position is based in Germany and oversees the commercial strategy for a specialised business unit within the medical devices and regulatory services sector across the EMEA region. The role blends strategic direction with hands‑on execution to drive revenue growth and strengthen customer and stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the commercial strategy for the medical devices regulatory services business across EMEA, aligning with growth and profitability targets.
• Lead revenue generation, market expansion and sales performance through planning, execution and performance monitoring.
• Build and maintain relationships with key customers, regulators, industry stakeholders and strategic partners.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities, partnerships and commercial initiatives.
• Coach, develop and succession‑plan regional commercial teams, fostering capability and engagement.
• Oversee forecasting, budgeting and business planning while tracking KPIs and performance.
• Collaborate with global and regional functions to ensure seamless execution and optimal customer experience.
• Champion operational excellence by optimising processes and driving continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, business development or commercial leadership, preferably within medical devices, regulatory services or quality assurance.
• Proven record of delivering revenue growth and meeting commercial targets.
• Strong leadership experience managing high‑performing international teams.
• Deep commercial acumen with strategic, customer‑centric thinking.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and business planning in a multi‑market environment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, including interaction with senior executives.
