Compliance Associate

About the role

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is seeking a Compliance Associate to support its Chief Compliance Officer and the wider compliance team in Frankfurt. The role focuses on managing regulatory risk across a range of frameworks, including Market Abuse Regulation (MAR), MiFID, conduct and reputational risk, while helping the bank maintain a strong risk culture.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice and recommendations on complex regulatory risk escalations from the first or second line of defence.
• Ensure policies and guidance align with global documents and current legal and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver guidance and training to the first line of defence on policy implementation and impact.
• Develop and deliver compliance training and awareness programmes for relevant stakeholders.
• Recommend and implement actions to mitigate regulatory risks and produce high‑quality reports for senior management.
• Support regulatory risk assessments and contribute to change‑management programmes.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert for internal policy development and produce relevant management information (MI) reports.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks such as MAR, MiFID, conduct and reputational risk.
• Ability to analyse complex regulatory issues and communicate recommendations clearly.
• Experience in delivering training and guidance to business units.
• Proven track record of producing detailed risk reports for senior stakeholders.
• Capability to support change‑management initiatives and policy development.
