Controller – Financial Reporting & Analysis (m/f/d)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and detail‑oriented Controller to join our finance team at our Hamburg headquarters. This full‑time position offers an excellent opportunity for an aspiring finance professional to gain hands‑on experience in financial reporting, analysis, budgeting and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and related schedules.
• Prepare financial reports for management review and conduct basic variance analysis to highlight trends and discrepancies.
• Support the annual budgeting process, gather data, prepare templates and monitor budget‑vs‑actual performance.
• Contribute to forecasting activities and provide data‑driven inputs for short‑term cash‑flow forecasts.
• Monitor daily cash balances, prepare cash‑flow reports and assist in cash‑flow planning.
• Identify efficiency opportunities in routine financial tasks and help implement or upgrade financial systems and tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Approximately 3 years of experience in controlling or other finance roles.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; German language skills are a plus.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial functions).
• Experience with Power BI for data visualization.
• Competence in creating presentations with PowerPoint.
