Crew Coordinator – Crewing Supervision

About the role

As a Crew Coordinator within Wilhelmsen Ahrenkiel Ship Management’s Crewing Supervision team, you will ensure professional crewing standards across a diverse fleet of container vessels, tankers, bulk carriers and specialised ships. You will act as the central link between vessel management, crewing agencies, clients and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with crewing policies, regulatory and client‑specific requirements for the assigned fleet.
• Track key performance indicators and guarantee adherence to internal, classification society and regulatory standards.
• Maintain crew documentation and manage crewing systems accurately.
• Foster strong relationships with crew members, vessel managers, agencies and other stakeholders.
• Identify training needs and coordinate development programmes for seafarers.
• Support audits, inspections and quality‑assurance initiatives within Crew Management.
• Promote standardized, compliant crewing processes and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Completed commercial apprenticeship, degree or equivalent qualification.
• Initial experience in maritime industry, crew management or a similar coordination role is desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Independent, well‑structured and responsible work style.
• Strong organisational abilities with capacity to handle multiple priorities.
• Analytical mindset combined with practical problem‑solving skills.
• Professional, proactive and solution‑oriented attitude.
• Ability to build trust across multicultural teams.
