Customer Engineer – Field Service for Semiconductor Equipment

About the role

As a Customer Engineer you will work on‑site at a client facility, supporting advanced semiconductor equipment. You will ensure performance, reliability and continuous operation while acting as the primary technical liaison with the customer.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, start‑up and qualification of complex equipment with a high degree of independence.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair system issues across electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas subsystems.
• Execute preventive maintenance, system upgrades and hardware retrofits to maximise uptime.
• Analyze equipment performance data and implement improvements to reduce operational costs.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams during incident escalation and production‑related incidents.
• Maintain strong customer relationships through clear communication and high‑quality service delivery.

Required profile

• Degree or vocational training in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience in field service or maintenance of complex technical equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with the capacity to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
