Data Entry Officer – Health Sector

About the role

The Data Entry Officer will support the health information management system in Al-Hasakeh by entering patient demographic and visit data, ensuring accuracy, and preparing regular reports for the project. The role works under the supervision of the Medical Officer and collaborates with the health information team.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and organize patient data from health facility visits.
• Enter data into standard RI templates and segregate by sex, age group, diagnosis, treatment, surgery, physiotherapy, psychosocial support, and referrals.
• Submit weekly data files to RI by the agreed deadline and prepare data for monthly project reports.
• Review data weekly for quality, flag missing or inaccurate entries, and inform the supervisor of discrepancies.
• Archive electronic and paper copies securely and maintain an up‑to‑date filing system.
• Assist in supervising and training junior staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Operate office equipment (scanners, printers) and perform regular database backups.
• Support special projects requiring large‑scale data entry.

Required profile

• University degree or related qualification.
• Minimum 1 year experience in data entry or a related field.
• Basic working knowledge of English and fluency in Arabic (reading, writing, speaking).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel to field sites.
• Experience in medical reporting is an advantage.
