Datacentre Hands and Feet Engineer

About the role

The Datacentre Hands and Feet Engineer provides on‑site operational support for datacenter infrastructure, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations, project execution and incident response. Based in Holzminden, Germany, the role combines physical hardware handling with basic server and network administration tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform rack‑and‑stack activities for servers, storage, switches, firewalls and appliances.
• Install, label, trace and manage structured copper and fiber cabling.
• Execute hardware installations, relocations, upgrades and decommissioning, including asset tagging and inventory validation.
• Conduct daily health checks, monitor environmental conditions and support UPS, PDU, CRAC/CRAH and generator maintenance.
• Assist with incident, service request and change management processes.
• Support datacenter expansion, migration and technology refresh projects, coordinating with vendors and service providers.
• Provide basic server administration support (firmware upgrades, BIOS configuration, hardware diagnostics) and network administration support (switch/router troubleshooting, port activation).

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in datacenter operations or physical infrastructure management.
• Working knowledge of server or network administration to assist with troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently on‑site and collaborate with multiple internal and external teams.
