Deputy CFO & Financial Controller – Germany

About the role

We are looking for a Deputy CFO & Financial Controller to lead our finance function in Germany. You will partner with senior leadership to drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and support strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets and tax accounting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and manage statutory reporting.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes and provide performance analysis to executives.
• Drive the annual budgeting cycle, periodic forecasting and variance analysis.
• Design and maintain internal control systems and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Manage cash‑flow, liquidity, treasury relationships and financial risk.
• Mentor finance team members and present results to senior management and the board.
• Support M&A, system implementations and business transformation projects.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Several years of experience in financial controlling, analysis or a similar senior finance role.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluent in English and German (written and spoken); Spanish is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP or other financial systems.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.
