Design Engineer – Shipbuilding & Mechanical Design (m/f/d)

About the role

CT Engineering Group is seeking a Design Engineer specialized in shipbuilding and mechanical design to join its Hamburg or Bremen team. The role involves creating and maintaining detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for naval structures and equipment, supporting projects from concept through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update 3D models and 2‑D drawings of assemblies, foundations, deck equipment, hull components and technical spaces.
• Prepare and maintain bills of materials, piping lists and related technical documentation.
• Produce general arrangement and detailed designs, including CAM data, isometric drawings and P&ID documentation.
• Design integration, installation, lifting and transport concepts for shipbuilding projects.
• Coordinate technical issues with customers, suppliers and internal departments.
• Generate design review reports, punch lists, as‑built and hand‑over documentation.
• Support factory acceptance tests and commissioning activities.

Required profile

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or a comparable discipline.
• Proven experience in mechanical design and system integration within the shipbuilding or related industry.
• Familiarity with DIN, ISO and EN standards and with technical specifications change management.
• Structured, self‑reliant working style and business‑level English; German is a plus.
