DevOps Engineer (AWS & Kubernetes)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team in Kiel on a hybrid basis. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes orchestration for modern cloud‑native applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable AWS infrastructure.
• Build and maintain Kubernetes clusters for containerized workloads.
• Create and optimise CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security across environments.
• Automate operational tasks, deployments, scaling, and recovery processes.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and security teams to improve release processes.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions.
• Ensure compliance with security best practices and support disaster‑recovery strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
• Fluency in German and ability to work onsite two days per week.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
