Director, Business Development – Asia Pacific

About the role

This senior leadership position is responsible for driving strategic growth across the Asia Pacific defence and aerospace markets. You will operate at the intersection of government relations, commercial strategy and complex defence procurement, shaping long‑term partnerships with ministries of defence, air forces and key industry stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead business development and government engagement activities across APAC, defining go‑to‑market and partnership strategies.
• Develop and execute capture management processes, including RFI/RFP responses, bid strategy and proposal development.
• Conduct market intelligence and sizing analyses to identify trends, risks and new opportunities.
• Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with defence ministries, air forces and other government stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, finance and technical teams to support solution development.
• Represent the organisation at international defence and aerospace events throughout the region.
• Oversee regulatory monitoring and policy engagement as part of the government‑relations strategy.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in business development, capture management or government‑facing commercial roles within aerospace, defence or complex government services.
• Proven track record working with Asia Pacific defence ministries, air forces or procurement bodies.
• Deep understanding of defence procurement cycles, government structures and tendering processes.
• Strategic thinking combined with strong execution capabilities in highly regulated markets.
