Director, Media

About the role

Brunswick is seeking a Director, Media to advise leading national and international clients on complex communications challenges at the intersection of business, politics and media. You will work directly with CEOs, executive teams and boards to shape strategic media positioning, enhance executive visibility and protect corporate reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strategic media positioning and communications plans aligned with client business goals.
• Advise senior executives on media engagement, thought leadership and executive positioning.
• Design and deliver bespoke media training programmes for CEOs and C‑suite leaders.
• Assess news value, identify opportunities and risks, and translate complex issues into compelling narratives.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with journalists, editors and media stakeholders across Germany.
• Integrate traditional, digital and social media tactics to maximise impact.
• Act as a trusted advisor on reputational risk, crisis situations and strategic communications challenges.
• Collaborate with Brunswick’s global network to deliver integrated communications programmes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience advising CEOs and senior leaders in high‑profile media environments.
• Deep understanding of the German media landscape and strong editorial judgement.
• Well‑established network with leading national media outlets.
• Political awareness and ability to translate business and policy issues into media‑relevant stories.
