Director of Food & Beverage

About the role

The Hoxton, Hamburg, its second hotel in Germany, is opening soon in the Alter Wall redevelopment project. It offers 188 bedrooms, a lobby bar and ground-floor restaurant, a rooftop restaurant and an events space called The Apartment. The hotel is looking for a Director of Food & Beverage to lead a pre-opening team and run its food and beverage outlets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a dynamic pre-opening team overseeing several food and beverage outlets, including a diverse events space.
• Drive revenue through strategic management of commercial initiatives with the leadership team.
• Take ownership of the P&L and the costs of the business, finding efficient solutions while keeping quality and experience high.
• Work closely with the Head Chef on menu development and ensure food quality and consistency.
• Focus on both guest and team experience and lead from the front.

Required profile

• A track record of leading large teams in restaurants, kitchens and bars.
• 2+ years' experience in a similar food and beverage management or director role, across multiple sites or a single business with £4m+ revenue per year.
• Passion for hospitality and a desire to leave people with a memorable experience.
• Team player who is not precious, ready to try new things and share a laugh.

Required skills

• Multi-departmental budgeting and forecasting, with a clear understanding of the financial expectations of a restaurant and bar business.
• Ability to manage the budget daily, weekly and monthly and report results with a granular understanding of trends.
• Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
