Director of Marketing Strategy & Planning

About the role

PUMA is looking for a senior leader to own the global marketing calendar, budget allocation and operational processes. The Director will shape the brand’s worldwide marketing blueprint, ensuring flawless execution and alignment across categories and regions.

Key responsibilities

• Define the global marketing approach in line with the brand masterplan, seasonal calendar and key brand moments.
• Lead cross‑functional planning, set priorities and coordinate with regional teams.
• Oversee global marketing budget allocation, forecasting and investment governance.
• Partner with marketing controlling, indirect procurement and brand finance to ensure financial discipline.
• Run a special‑project taskforce to drive transformation initiatives.
• Provide strategic guidance and alignment frameworks to regional markets.
• Manage marketing operations such as sample distribution and seeding.
• Optimize processes, tools and workflows to improve planning accountability.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in marketing planning, brand blueprints or marketing operations.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate business goals into actionable plans.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale budgets and cross‑functional initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder management across regions, categories and senior leadership.
• Experience leading teams and complex transformation projects.
• Deep understanding of marketing operations and agency management.
• Industry experience in sports, lifestyle or consumer goods is preferred.
