Director of People, Europe

About the role

Freenow is seeking a senior People leader to shape the future of its European business. Reporting to Lyft’s Chief People Officer and working closely with the President of Freenow Europe, the Director of People, Europe will act as a trusted advisor to the European Leadership Team and help translate global people strategy into regional impact.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the European Leadership Team to align people, organizational and talent priorities with business strategy.
• Lead workforce planning, operating model decisions and organizational design to support scalable growth.
• Drive people integration for M&A activities, including diligence, integration and temporary HR Operations oversight.
• Define talent, succession and leadership strategies for key and senior roles across Europe.
• Coach senior leaders to improve leadership effectiveness and foster a high‑performance, inclusive culture.
• Oversee employee and labor relations, compliance and workforce risk in partnership with Legal.
• Provide dotted‑line leadership to all European People functions, ensuring alignment without direct reporting authority.
• Champion the adoption of AI, analytics and automation to improve decision‑making, workforce insights and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• 12+ years of progressive People leadership experience in international, multi‑country environments.
• Proven success partnering with executive teams in high‑growth technology or marketplace companies.
• Strong track record of leading organizational transformation, talent strategy and culture initiatives.
• Experience managing employee relations, labor law compliance and M&A integration.
