E-Commerce Communications Manager – Germany, Austria & Netherlands

About the role

The Global Communications team is looking for an E‑Commerce Communications Manager to lead day‑to‑day communications for TikTok Shop across Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. You will partner with operations, business, product, legal and policy teams to shape how the marketplace is perceived by media, sellers, creators and buyers.

Key responsibilities

• Own communications support for TikTok Shop in the three markets, aligning messaging with business priorities.
• Develop audience‑specific narratives and manage projects such as product launches, partnership announcements and seasonal campaigns.
• Build and maintain relationships with national, business and trade media, handling inbound requests and proactive outreach.
• Review German‑language external materials for clarity, consistency and reputational risk.
• Track media sentiment and market trends, translating insights into guidance for internal teams.
• Prepare spokespeople and experts for interviews, briefings and events.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to ensure aligned messaging and early identification of communication risks.
• Contribute to issue management and escalation for reputational matters in the DACH and NL markets.

Required profile

• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in communications, corporate affairs, PR, media relations or a related field.
• Strong understanding of the German media landscape and experience managing press relationships.
• Proven ability to craft high‑quality messaging for diverse audiences with minimal guidance.
• Experience supporting spokespeople and handling media inquiries.
