Electrical Design Engineer – High Voltage & Power Systems

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with deep expertise in high‑voltage power systems to join a leading battery and energy‑storage manufacturer expanding its German engineering team. You will work on utility‑scale renewable energy, storage and substation projects that are central to the European energy transition.

Key responsibilities

• Design and engineer high‑voltage electrical systems (110 kV and above) for substations, renewable projects and energy‑storage installations.
• Develop detailed primary and secondary designs, including protection, control and automation schemes.
• Perform power‑system studies such as load flow, short‑circuit, stability and protection coordination.
• Prepare technical specifications, drawings and documentation in accordance with DIN, IEC and IEEE standards.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical and project‑management teams to deliver fully integrated solutions.
• Conduct site visits and assessments to validate designs and support project execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or a related discipline.
• Proven experience designing high‑voltage (110 kV+) systems, substations, renewable‑energy and storage projects.
• Strong knowledge of primary equipment (switchgear, transformers, busbars) and secondary equipment (protection relays, SCADA, control panels).
• Fluent English; German language skills are a strong advantage.
